What is FreshStats?
FreshStats is an MLB player prop research tool that combines real-time weather data, Statcast metrics, and statistical models to help you make more informed research decisions on player props.
Is weather data free?
Yes — all game day weather data including current conditions, hourly forecasts, and wind impact analysis is completely free. No account required.
What does the Free account include?
A free account gives you access to full player stats and probability scores for up to 2 games per day. K%, BB%, and RBI stats are locked on the free tier.
What does Pro include?
Pro gives you unlimited games per day, full access to all stats including K%, BB%, RBI, Statcast metrics, the complete Fresh Ratings leaderboard, and batter vs pitcher history.
What are Fresh Ratings?
Fresh Ratings are a composite HR likelihood score from 1-100. They factor in a player's barrel rate, exit velocity, the opposing pitcher's HR/9 rate, park factor, and current weather conditions.
How accurate are the probability scores?
Probability scores are statistical estimates based on historical data and current conditions. They are research tools, not guarantees. Baseball is inherently unpredictable and actual outcomes will vary.
How is player data calculated?
FreshStats uses a proprietary blended model that combines multiple seasons of player data to produce stable, reliable statistics early in the season when sample sizes are small. Our model incorporates advanced Statcast metrics, park factors, opponent quality, and real-time conditions to generate probability scores and Fresh Ratings. Specific methodology is proprietary.
Where does the data come from?
Player stats come from the official MLB Stats API. Advanced Statcast metrics (barrel rate, exit velocity) come from Baseball Savant. Weather data comes from OpenWeatherMap.
Can I cancel my Pro subscription?
Yes, you can cancel anytime. Your Pro access will continue until the end of the current billing period. See our Refund Policy for details.
Is FreshStats affiliated with MLB?
No. FreshStats is an independent platform and is not affiliated with Major League Baseball or any MLB team.
